::Team Twilight:: Fan Fiction Friday

Hey shacksters! Have you heard, Lab Tech Andi’s considering looking for an assistant, so if you happen to really be a vegetarian vampire and are willing to put up with the voices in her head, this might just be the job for you. I read the post again and laughed. I wonder if it’s possible for a vampire to go crazy. After putting Alice in charge of the offerings last week, I knew I wouldn’t be doing that again anytime soon. I mean, seriously, I adored the stories she’d picked out, but I still couldn’t wrap my brain around the fact that she recommended “Kitty Litter Cake”. I laughed again.

“Why are you reading that post again?” Edward asked as he strolled through the lab over to the keyboard that was setup in one corner. Bella was still helping me with shirts and he just couldn’t stay away. The idea of having Bella help me in the lab more often just so Edward would be around for eye candy briefly floated through my thoughts before I heard a resounding, “No” come from the corner Edward was occupying.

“Fine, it was just a thought.” I stuck my tongue out at him, Bella just laughed. I was so grateful she was willing to put up with me. “I was reading it because I still can’t believe that recipe she picked out. It’s so silly.”

“Well, she said it was in your recipe book and since some people will be having Halloween parties, you know how Alice is about parties; she thought it would be fun.” Bella defended as she spread paint on another shirt. “So if the recipe is so silly, why is it in your book?”

“I made it once, in 1997, for a Halloween party, but I was the only one who would eat it.” I laughed at the memory; Edward laughed too watching it in my thoughts. “I think it was too realistic.”

“Anyway, I still need help in the lab, especially since I’ll be in San Francisco all next week and since I can’t keep Bella,” I glared in Edward’s direction, to which he responded by rolling his eyes, “I have to find someone to take care of things while I’m away.”

“You know Esme always loves to help out and Rosalie enjoys mothering the authors, too.” Edward informed me. This surprised me a little, I had no idea Rose enjoyed spending time with the authors since she wasn’t a frequent visitor. “She only stays away because she doesn’t want to frighten them, but anytime Esme fixes food for them, she’s always helping out.” As I pondered this, Edward turned to his keyboard and flipped it on.

With the volume low, Edward started to play and the beautiful melody filled the room. I thought about what it would be like for a human to have a vampire assistant and how much we’d be able to get done. Then, suddenly I thought about Bella’s last human birthday and her small paper cut. Damn, we’d have to go completely electronic. Accidently, snacking on the authors would not be cool. I heard a chuckle from the corner of the room. Oh, just play your keyboard Edward, I thought at him. Bella looked at both of us and shrugged. Who am I kidding, there’s not a vampire on the planet that would put up with the crazy tasks I’d have them do. They’d kill me just to be rid of me. Again, I heard a chuckle from the corner of the room.

Ok, maybe I won’t be getting a vampire assistant, but all my dealings this week have assistants in them. So while I ponder my options, I hope these help satisfy your cravings.

My first tale is a completed and completely amazing fic called “I Hate You, Kiss Me” by BittenBee. In this universe Bella is an incredibly independent legal assistant who is certainly not looking for a relationship at this time in her life. However, a woman has needs right? So after playing wingman to her best friend, Emmett, she meets an interesting and sexy guy at the bar who just so happens to be new in town. A few too many drinks leads to an unforgettable one night stand and Bella figures she’ll never see him again. Of course that is until he shows up for his first day of work at her law firm. The dance these two characters do is entertaining and addictive. I’m so not responsible if you stay up all night to read this one because you’re going to want to.

My second tale is a lovely completed fic called “Help Wanted” by jaxon22. This is the story of Bella Swan, Personal Assistant to the latest “it” boy, Edward Cullen. Around the film industry, Edward has a developed a reputation of being rude, arrogant and distant, but are the rumors true or are they just rumors? Bella’s trying to figure out how to take this and since this PA job isn’t just any job to her, she doesn’t want to screw this up. Edward’s making it very difficult though as he continues to throw her mixed signals. These characters will make you want to pull your hair out at times, but this story would be worth going bald for.

My last amazingly completed tale is called “Realize” by Goo82. This is the story of best friends, Edward and Bella, who have been together since birth, nearly raised as siblings, so it was only natural when he rocketed toward stardom Bella would have an important role in this life as his personal assistant. But living in the shadow of someone famous is harder than it seems, even more so when you’re in love with that person and can’t even see it. Add to it that everyone else around you can see it and it’s magnified. This is the life Bella is living and this is how we watch her heart get torn to pieces by the man she loves. Will Edward ever realize he’s always been in love with her too and put her back together? The title is so fitting for this story because you will be shouting it to the screen as you read each and every chapter. Just make sure you’re not disturbing anyone.

::Team Breaking Dawn:: MASSIVE Breaking Dawn Casting Update.

This just in from Summit Entertainment:
Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.
THE AMAZON COVEN
· The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.
· Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe.  They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.
THE EGYPTIAN COVEN
· The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
o Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
o Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
o Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
o Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.
· The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.
THE IRISH COVEN
· The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.
· The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.
THE ROMANIAN COVEN
· The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.
· The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi.  For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.
THE AMERICAN NOMADS
· The American Nomads are comprised of:
o Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
o Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
o Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
o Erik Odom as Peter.
o Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.
· Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.
· Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.
· Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates.  They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player.  They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.
THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
· The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair
· A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority.  Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

I shuffled the papers on my desk digging for my list. Where the hell was it? I suspect someone stole it, but I wasn’t sure I knew who it was or why they would do it. The lab was really a busy place lately. People were in and out at all hours of the day making it difficult to keep up with where everything was going. I had the authors in one part of the lab doing their thing. Then in another part of the lab, Bella was helping to print t-shirts for my Alex’s Lemonade Stand project. The place was a mess.

“Hey, Andi!” Bella shouted, “I need more black paint and we’re getting low on red glitter too. Any idea where the extra supplies went?”

“I thought they were over by the table, aren’t they there anymore?”

I heard her move a few boxes around. “I don’t see them.”

I slumped into my chair and groaned at the ceiling. Damn, I need help in here. I picked up the phone and dialed a number. “Hi Alice, I could really use some help –“

“Of course! I’ll be there in two minutes. Just go ahead to the store to get the things you need for the shirts and I’ll take care of everything for Friday.” she interrupted then swiftly ended the call. I pulled the phone away from my ear, staring at it in my hand. “I barely told her anything.” I mumbled to myself and I heard Bella giggle.

“Bella,” I called to her, “I’m going to get supplies. Alice will be here in a minute to get the fics ready for Friday. Call my cell if we need anything else while I’m out okay.”

“Sure thing, but do you think giving Alice free reign over Fan Fiction Friday is a good idea?”

“Oh, how bad can it be? I’m sure she’ll do fine. See you guys in a little while,” I said grabbing my keys and purse.

“If you’re sure…” Bella called back to me. “See you in a little bit.”

Walking out the door, I began to wonder what exactly I’d agreed to by having Alice take on Friday. I hoped I wasn’t making a terrible mistake.

Since Andi left me in charge of the offerings this week, I don’t think I get enough recognition for all I do. Therefore, all the fics this week will be featuring me, Alice, and of course I could never be without my Jasper. The others will be in there too so there’s no reason to panic, but these are not their stories and I’ve already seen that you’ll love them. So, just read them all ready!

First, I found this awesome completed story that weaves a tale about the first years of my vampire life until I met Jasper called “Singularity” by Openhome. As you know, when I woke, I had no memory and no maker. My thirst was the only thing I could clearly recognize and that only brought death. Yet I could see I had a choice. The wonderful thing about this story is that is stays true to the canon version of me, but since Jasper appears at the end of this story, you won’t find any sexual content here.

Next, I found a very funny completed fic call “The Good Looking Loony Toons Stalker Guy” by jajo. In this tale Jasper is an incubus and I’m human. Jasper acts so strange that I nearly take out a restraining order, but things start to come together. The very unique thing about this story is that not all the characters are vampires and there are quite a few surprises.

Third, I dug on this in-progress story titled “Oh Baby Baby” by beckaboowriter. In this tale, we’re all human and Jasper and I are getting married. But everything gets turned around when I find out I’m pregnant with Jasper’s baby. Dun, dun, dun. I know this isn’t how I would want it, but is this everything that Jasper wants? Or will it tear us apart forever?

And finally, I found this hot little one shot called “Yoga Master” by mskathy. Here, over-worked, stressed, single dad Jasper decides to take yoga. I work my magic and turn him into a long, lean, peaceful, muscled man. Late one night after a breakthrough yoga session, things get intense and actions are certainly louder than words.

I know Andi always finds some recipe to go along with these, but I don’t eat or drink human food. So, I just found something fun. I hope it turns out okay, but if you don’t like it, don’t blame me.

“Kitty Litter Cake”

Ingredients
1 package Spice cake mix
1 package white cake mix
2 packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 package vanilla sandwich cookies
3 drops green food coloring
1 package tootsie rolls
1 new kitty litter box
1 new pooper scooper

Directions
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to package directions (any size pan).
Prepare pudding according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of green food coloring and mix.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the remaining cookie crumbs, and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, you want the cake to be just moist, not soggy.
Line kitty litter box with the kitty litter liner. Put cake mixture into box.
Put half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. Shape the ends so that they are no longer blunt, and curve the tootsie rolls slightly. Bury tootsie rolls randomly in the cake and sprinkle with half of the remaining cookie crumbs. Sprinkle a small amount of the green colored cookie crumbs lightly over the top.
Heat 3 or 4 of the tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle lightly with some of the green cookie crumbs. Heat the remaining tootsie rolls until pliable and shape as before. Spread all but one randomly over top of cake mixture. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Hang the remaining tootsie roll over side of litter box and sprinkle with a few green cookie crumbs. Serve with the pooper scooper for a gross Halloween dessert.

Well, Lab Tech Andi's been stargazing lately and has a few constellations to offer that might help to calm your hidden desires. Last week was so hazy with all the excitement surrounding my emails and once I finally came back to reality, I nearly lost it upon the discovery of missing chapters from “The University of Edward Mason” by SebastienRobichaud. However, Alice was swift to assure me that she had nothing to do with the removal of said chapters and since that story wasn’t what I was reading at the time anyway, I decided to believe her. To help me deal with the loss of such a wonderful story, Alice and Jasper were planning to keep me company for the afternoon.

One task that was long over due was the need to clean the fish tank. So, while Alice was scanning my email for potential viruses, at least until they could ramp up my security software to scan out the bad stuff, Jasper was helping me make my fish happy again.

“You missed a spot,” Jasper told me as he pointed his finger at a spot near the bottom of the tank.

“You couldn’t have told me that while I was cleaning that area?” I asked narrowing my eyes at him. He laughed at my expression.

“Hey, Andi!” Alice called from the other side of the room. “Did you see that all those actors who play us in the movies are supposed to start filming in October?”

“Yeah, the whole crew sounds pretty excited to be working together again.” I replied as I struggled to get to the spot Jasper pointed out. “Why don’t you look into the future and tell me if the last two movies are going to be any good.”

“There are still too many decisions being made and they all keep changing their minds. It’s just too hazy; I can’t see a thing. I can tell you that they made a good choice with the little girl they picked to play Renesmee though.” She told me as she continued flipping through screens.

“Really? I think she’s cute and she really does look like she could be Rob and Kristen’s child, but a lot of fans think she’s too old.” I told her.

“Special effects can work wonders,” she assured me. “She’ll do great, you’ll see.”

I giggled to myself then wondered aloud, “What does Renesmee think of this little actress who’s going to play her?”

Alice was shutting down my machine now and decided to join us as we finished up. “Oh, she keeps asking when she’ll get to meet her. She’s so excited about the whole thing and Edward has to keep explaining to her that meeting that little girl is simply out of the question.”

Then Jasper laughed while passing me a few fish to put back in the tank and said, “But it doesn’t keep her from showing everyone pictures of her and Mackenzie playing together.”

I dropped the last of the fish in the tank and climbed down the ladder, “Do you think you guys could make it in Hollywood as actors?”

“Of course, we would; we put on a performance every day. Although, Bella might be a little iffy.” Alice responded pondering my question.

“She just needs practice, Darlin’.” Jasper said as he wrapped he’s arm around her waist. “Bella hangs out with Edward so much she doesn’t usually try that often.”

“Maybe this is something that the authors should take on. The Cullen’s go Hollywood!” I told them putting my hands in the air like I could see their names in lights.

Alice started clapping her hands, “That would be so exciting! I wonder if they’ll make me a star.”
“You’re already a star in my book Alice, but we’ll see what turns up.” I go to hug her, “Thanks for scanning my computer.” Then I give Jasper a quick hug, “Thanks for helping me with the fish. Now I really must get ready for Friday or I’ll have nothing to offer the masses.”

“Good Luck and remember, don’t open any new emails.” Alice warned me. Then her eyes unfocused for only a second and I heard her mumble something that sounded like, “Good, you’ll be fine.”

“I’ll see you both later,” I told them as I headed over to my desk and they waved on their way out the door.

This week I’ll give you the stars, even if they’re not of the celestial type; they’re still all out of this world:

First, I found an insanely humorous in-progress tale called “Hello Again” while gazing in the constellation of completerandomness12. In this story, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen first met in high school, but were too timid to act on their feelings. For the past 12 years each of them has been harboring secret crushes and while Bella’s been trying to avoid running into Edward for fear of embarrassment, Edward’s been hoping their paths would eventually cross. Fate finally steps in, forcing this unlikely pair together on Leno. Bella is now a television and movie actress, who’s gorgeous, kind, smart, funny, witty, thoughtful, and she even bakes. Edward has become one of the hottest, most sought after actors in the industry. Dating becomes extremely complicated when both parties are celebrities and promotional interests get in the way. Will they take control of their own destinies and finally be together or let the nature of their careers pull them apart? Even through all the drama this story has comedy that you will not want to miss.

Next, I discovered “The Late Late Show With Edward Cullen” hiding in the constellation of chartwilightmom. This in-progress tale has so much sexual tension it; you feel it through the screen. Bella is a famous actress and secret uber-fan of Edward Cullen, host of a late night talk show. So when she’s making her rounds to promote her new movie, her one demand is that her agent schedule an interview for her on Edward’s show. Usually, Bella sticks to the simple handshake for these types of interviews, but something in her just can’t resist whispering in his ear. What do they whisper to each other on stage?

The third constellation that came into view was MissAlex, who just happen to contain a wonderfully painted story called “Rebel Without A Cause”. This completed tale tells about the adventures of rising 1950s starlet, and small town girl, Isabella Swan, formally Marie Byrd, who at eighteen years old is taking Hollywood by storm and embarking on a career that is far removed from her childhood dream of becoming a school teacher. Edward Cullen is a twenty-three year old, gorgeous, brooding, method actor, who is brought out to Los Angeles from New York to star in his first film, and likes to follow his own rules. At the age of seven, Edward witnessed his mother's brutal murder, which left him estranged from his father and regretting that he didn't do more to stop the attack. Acting is Edward's only method of trying to cope with his traumatic past and recurring nightmares, until he meets Isabella on the Mertz Studios lot and their instant attraction provides solace that he didn't believe existed. As their relationship develops, Bella unravels the mystery behind Edward's inner torment and decides to help him conquer the tremendous guilt and sorrow that haunts him, despite his reluctance and fear that if he failed his mother, he will, one day, fail Bella too.

Finally, I found “Stay” residing in the constellation of crimsonmarie, whose completed fic tells a beautiful tale of two people looking for more, without realizing they were searching. As an actor, Edward Cullen is surrounded by people that he couldn't really care less about and just wants to get away from it all. In a house located in the middle of nowhere he finds peace and people who treat him like an actor, but a regular person. Bella thought her life was complete until Edward moved in and instantly she finds comfort in the most unlikely of places. Can they turn their friendship into something more?

::Team Breaking Dawn:: Renesmee Actor Finalized

Entertainment Weekly has just revealed that Mackenzie Foy, a 9-year old actress, who has played parts in television shows such as FlashForward and 'Til Death is just moments from signing on to join the rest of the Twilight cast to play Renesmee in the filming of 'Breaking Dawn'. It's highly suspected that director Bill Condon will use a computer generated infant for Renesmee in part one of the saga and Foy will be added to the cast in part two.

Summit has confirmed that Foy will be cast.

Maggie Grace Cast in “Breaking Dawn”

Maggie Grace has been cast as vampire Irina in Breaking Dawn, Gossip Cop has confirmed.
Grace is perhaps best known for her stint on “Lost” and role as Liam Neeson’s imperiled daughter in Taken.
Her “Twilight Saga” character is a member of the Denali coven who blames the Cullen clan for the death of her lover.
The first of the two Breaking Dawn installments will be released in November 2011.

Ok, my lovely fanfic addicts, I know your skin is probably gettin' twitchy by now and you've been hearing things on the feeds. There are fics that exist that are so captivating they will hold you until the final word. Well, Lab Tech Andi's been caught in that spell this week and pulled together a few viral fics that haven't been in the shack before. So, dig out your GPS and find the Love Shack deep in the forest of the Pacific Northwest, walk around to the blue door and knock the tune of "I Want A New Drug" and the password is "My Precious". Be Safe!

I could hear them at the edges of my consciousness but I wasn’t aware enough to know who was saying what.

“What’s wrong with her?”

“She’s not even blinking!”

“Her emotions are so chaotic, too fast for me to even keep up with.”

A bright orb swept across my vision.

“Well, her heart rate appears normal and her pupils are responsive. Andi? Can you hear me?”

“She looks like you when you’re having a vision.” A deep laugh followed.

“Hush Emmett, this isn’t funny! You haven’t baked her anything have you? “

“No way! Not after last time.”

“Is there anything going through her mind?”

“It’s just letters, all jumbled together; like the opening of ‘The Matrix’.”

“Turn off the monitor.”

When the screen went black, I reached up to turn it back on and felt someone grab my wrist. “NO! I HAVE TO TURN IT BACK ON!”

“Rose, hold her back so she doesn’t hurt herself. Alice, take her computer back to the house, there’s something on that machine. Can you find out what she was last looking at and then format the hard drive and reinstall everything?”

“No problem.”

“NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” I screamed at them. “LEAVE MY MACHINE ALONE! YOU’RE GOING TO TAKE MY STORY AWAY, AREN’T YOU?”

I struggled against the bonds that held me still, but they were too strong. I had to keep that story! I watched as my machine flew out the door of the lab and my vision blurred with tears.

“NOOOOO!” I cried and slumped in the arms that confined me.

“Jasper, see if you can calm her enough to get her to sleep.” As my body relaxed and my mind slowed down, I slowly began to recognize that this was Carlisle’s voice.

“Maybe her mind needs something else to process; I’ll see if I can find her something to read that’s a little less consuming” Bella offered.

“I’ve got some Dr. Seuss at the house from when we tried to read them to Renesmee.” Emmett said with a chuckle.

“Um… No Thanks,” she objected. “I don’t think that doctor would be much help to her right now.”

The tears had stopped and my eyes were starting to close. When my legs started to give out, I felt myself get swept up and heard Carlisle’s voice float through the fog in my now very muddled brain, “Rose, Jasper, take her to her room and put her to bed. Bella will be back a little later with books and I’ll check her then.” That was the last thing I heard.

You probably want to know what happened, right? Well, I opened a link from an emailed that promised an instantly addictive fic, but it was probably more a kin to a computer virus for the brain. I don’t think I’ll be recommending that kind of trip this week, but I have a few safer addictions to offer just be sure to read in moderation:

Ok, my first deal is “Master of the Universe 2” by Snowqueens Icedragon. This in-progress, very mature, adult-themed tale picks up where the first story left off. Our beloved Fifty and his beautiful Isabella are on their honeymoon, discovering the joys of being man and wife, but something dangerous is brewing back home. People are threatening to destroy their future and the past continues to loom over them like a dark cloud. Can Bella’s love give Edward the strength he needs? If you didn’t read the first one when it was recommended, what have you been doing all this time? Go read it immediately so you can pick up the sequel. Must be 18 years or older.

Next is an amazing rollercoaster of a story called “Songbird” by SydneyAlice. On the eve of Alice and Jaspers wedding, a chance encounter between the Maid of Honor and a Rouge Groomsman in a piano bar leads to a weekend of passion. When faced with the consequences, will Bella and Edward overcome their differences and focus on what's really important in life? This tale is still a work in progress, but it will have you hooked from the first amazingly hot and steamy chapter.

Third, I offer “The Blessing and the Curse” by The Black Arrow. This recently completed fic details the wickedness in discovering your soul mate on the day of your birth. Esme only wanted her children to be happy and her children only wanted to make sure she died knowing that. So, by pretending she is falling for Edward, Bella is fulfilling Esme's dying wish. But sexy, possessive Edward can read her mind. Will she ever get into his? Can Bella forget the pain of her teenage years, and can she resist his relentless seduction?

Now, since these are of the highly addictive variety and you’re going to want to stay awake, I’m giving you my highly coveted recipe for an “Iced Caramel Latte” (believe me, you’ll need the caffeine)

Ingredients
2 tbsp Hershey’s Caramel syrup (don’t use the ice cream topping version unless you have no other choice)
1 tbsp Sugar
1 cup of slightly cooled brewed coffee (I actually use French pressed coffee)
1 cup milk

Mixing ingredients
Combine coffee, syrup, and sugar. Stir until sugar and syrup are completely dissolved. Add in milk and pour over ice.
