Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga was first marketed to young readers, but judging from the crowd at the first Twilight convention in Los Angeles, Calif., the popular vampire series has reached all demographics.
Yes, even men are catching on to the antics of Edward and Bella. But Creation convention organizers say by far women in their 30s and 40s are the franchise's strongest fan base. And the Twilight Sisterhood would agree -- women of all ages are at its core.
So what do the celebs of the film think about the age demographic of the movie? For some of the stars it was a bit of a surprise, while others saw it coming. Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen) says that his sister, who is in her 40s, loves the books and reads them with her daughter.
"When we started shooting Twilight we knew that there was a big fan base, but we didn't know it was this big. We were very conscious of making a good movie for those fans so we wouldn't let them down. It spread like wildfire and by the time the movie came out the fan base exploded. My sister even loves the Twilight series and she reads them with my niece. I think that is cool that women of all ages can enjoy the story," said Peter.
Michael Welch (Mike Newton) also noticed that there were a lot of Twi-moms who were hip to the series.
"Twlight moms is a big demographic for us. They were always on the Twilight set. The Twi-moms are fantastic. If it works for you go right ahead," said Mike.
Edi Gathegi (Laurent) says Twi-fans are loyal and he gets why women love the story. He noted in the interview that women want their men to look at them the way Edward looks at Bella.
"We have some of the best fans in the world. I love it. The story is universal. It is engaging. Mostly right now I am finding women in their 40s and girls 18 and under make up the majority of our fan base," said Edi.
Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) compared Twilight to Titanic and Romeo and Juliet, except with vampires, and he too gets why the movie is a worldwide phenomenon.
"Right when we started shooting we all started seeing the fans come to the sets. More and more came as we shot. We weren't expecting it to be as big as it was. We are happy that it is. The fans are amazing. Stephanie is brilliant and she has captivated a story of forbidden love that touches every female demographic which then touches the male demographic. In a way it touches everyone," said Kellan.

I haven’t written an open letter in a while, last time I did was to Catherine Hardwicke actually. You can find this letter here . Since I’ve been hearing many things over the past few days I decided it was time to write another letter to Catherine (not that she’ll actually listen or see it).
Dear Catherine,
We all understand you produced Twilight and cast Robert Pattinson. Yes, Twilight made it big and yes you were behind it, but the thing is Catherine, you can’t live the rest of your life off one success. So maybe it’s time you moved on from Twilight and actually promoted something else you’re doing (sorry I have no clue what you’re doing right now as I don’t keep track). The fact of the matter is that you are no longer producing The Twilight Saga. Maybe you were hurt by that, or maybe it was your choice, I have no clue. The thing is, you are still talking ‚not only about Twilight, but about the stars private lives.
Speaking for myself, if my old boss started talking about my private life to everyone on TV, I would be really pissed off. Why are you doing this? Why are you “outing” a relationship that is not yours to out and furthermore how do you even know what is going on? Why are you still trying to milk this for all it’s worth? Have you taken a step back and noticed that you’re the only person who was part of Twilight talking about this? To me this shows a huge lack of respect. Oh, you keep saying how much you love Robert and Kristen, but tell me this, would a person who really cares and respects them be doing this? I can honestly say that I would never give information on the personal lives of the people I respect. So, to me that means that no you don’t respect them. You’re doing this for publicity. This isn’t something that is yours to reveal Catherine.
Releasing footage of the audition? That is so low. I can tell you this Catherine, I won’t be watching and I know many others who won’t be either. Why? Because Rob has said multiple times that he wasn’t at the top of his game for that audition, that he was really stressed out. Another reason being that if I went to a job interview and someone filmed it, I wouldn’t want them to be airing it, even if I was an actor. So no I won’t watch the audition tapes.
It’s sad that you’re not willing to move on Catherine, because in the end you won’t be remembered as the one who produced Twilight, but as the one who could never keep her mouth shut.

They are the first in line to catch a glimpse of the stars when they walk the Red Carpet for the New Moon premiere on Monday November 16th! The premiere takes place in Westwood CA.

Get ready L.A., New Moon’s headed your way. The U.S. premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon will take place Monday, Nov. 16 at Mann’s Village Theatre, 961 Broxton Avenue, in Westwood Village. The entire cast is expected to be on hand and arrivals are likely to start between 5 PM and 6:30 PM. The city has also issued permits for the New Moon Premiere Party at Lindbrook Dr and Glendon Ave, also in Westwood Village, for Nov. 16 beginning at 9:00 P.M.
