::Team Twilight:: Fan Fiction Friday

Define normal... If normal means reading only self help books and technical manuals, I don't want any part of it. It's a new year and time to get back to what we enjoy. For Lab Tech Andi, this means fics and the authors who pen them. Oh, how we've missed them!! So, don't doddle, all are welcome, just head straight to the blue door at the back of the shack, knock the heavy beat from Aerosmith's “Love in an Elevator” and the password is “Rescued”. Be Safe!
*~*~*~*~*~*~

I stared at the fuzzy image in front of me trying to recognize myself in the surface.

Ding

The brushed metal doors in front of me opened and I stepped forward, out of the elevator into the bland empty hotel hallway. I turned to walk towards my room when a hand swiftly shot out and grabbed me. Startled, I let out a scream, but the small hand covering my mouth muffled it.

"Where in heaven have you been?" Alice said as she moved into view. I breathed a sigh of relief.

"I know you can take the stairs faster than I can ride the elevator, but it can't have been more than a minute since I left you and Rosalie in the lobby, Alice." I replied and rolled my eyes.

She moved her hands over my arms and shoulders, all the while her eyes continued to scan my face as if she was looking for something. “What’s wrong? And where’s Rosalie?” I asked turning my head to see around me, getting more and more anxious.

Stilling herself, she looked me in the eyes and slowly spoke, “Andi, you’ve been missing for four months. Jasper and I are the only ones here, everyone else is in Forks.” She paused to gauge my reaction, but I was too confused to say anything, so she continued. “When you got in that elevator and the doors closed, I lost you. I rushed to the very next floor, but when the doors opened, you were gone, just like my vision. We looked all over to see if we could figure out what happened, but there was just nothing, like you never existed. Then, a couple days ago, I had a vision of you getting off that elevator, so Jasper and I flew back to take you home. Do you remember anything about where you’ve been or what happened? Even the tiniest detail would help.” She wrapped her arms around me. “We’ve been so worried!”

I hugged her back, but still confused, “Uh, I don’t understand.” Alice released me and took a step back. “I’ve been what?? This has to be a joke. Emmett is filming this, isn’t he? I mean, seriously, I just left you guys in the lobby. There is no way it’s December already!” I continued to ramble and spun around. “Okay, guys! Ha! Ha! Very funny, you can come out now!” I spoke into the ceiling as if talking to floating people. Alice put her hand on my arm to stop me.

“Honey, this isn’t a joke and it’s January.” I just looked at her, not blinking, my brain moving in a million directions. Where HAD I been? Was I in the same hotel? How am I even alive? Why wasn’t I more panicked? I turned my head to find Jasper standing behind me. Well, at least that answers one question. I started to laugh.

Alice looked worried and then looked to Jasper. “I think it’s time to take her home.” They turned me in the direction of the stairs and with one on either side, pulled me along.

“Why don’t we just take the elevator? It’ll be easier.” I asked, while Jasper opened the door to the stairwell for us.

“The last time you got in an elevator, it took you four months to go up two floors. I think we’ll chance it with the stairs.” Alice looped her arm around mine and I started to laugh again. Who knew vampires could develop a fear of elevators?

Back at the lab, Carlisle checked me out and said everything looked ok, but he wanted me to rest for a few days just to make sure, leaving me plenty of time for absolutely nothing. So, my stories this week are a mixture of elevator adventures, lost time stories, and even a kidnapping. Who knows where that will lead? I hope you enjoy.

My first deal up for grabs is this downright awesome tale called “All Fired Up” by MsEerieChastain. What if Edward never came back and Bella had moved on? It’s been eight long years and with a bit of effort, Bella has managed to really make a life out of the broken one Edward left her with. She’s a successful executive with a wonderful boyfriend, what more could she really ask for? Of course, that’s usually when everything starts tumbling down and it all started with the words “Hold the door, please.” Although, I’ll have to tell you that if Edward walked back into my life after eight years, I wouldn’t put up much of a fight, but that’s what I love about this Bella. She’s a fighter and she’s going to make Edward work for every inch he gets. And Edward may not look any different, but he’s no wallflower. He is bold and sexy as hell! Don’t be surprised when you find yourself wanting to tell Bella you’ll take him if she doesn’t want him. This tale should be put on your must read list ASAP!

My next deal will have you turning back the clock in this all human tale titled “Restoration” by texbelle. In high school, six friends were inseparable, but when one of them had to move overseas during their junior year, all of them fall out of balance. Now, it’s ten years later and time for the high school class reunion, but there are changes awaiting them. Will these changes be enough to repair the balance or will it destroy any chance to reclaim what was lost? These lost and found stories are a fun read and this author does an amazing job of letting you see the story from every character’s point of view, which is hilarious when they’re interacting with one another without realizing it.

Ok, I can NOT have a post with elevator stories and overlook including one with sex in an elevator; that would be nearly sacrilege, so I’m giving you “Up” by kimpy0464. This is a one-shot that I adored because it had just the right amount of back story mixed with the right amount of chemistry to make these two seemingly complete strangers explode the day that the electricity goes out while they’re riding together. What also makes it funny is that two hyperaware people can be so oblivious when it comes to each other. If you’re looking for something quick and wonderful, this is your story!

My last deal will hold you hostage until you find “The Perfect Space” by AbidingByRhyme. At 16 years old, Bella & Edward, living in completely different states, had no idea that the other even existed until a vengeful kidnapper brought them together for four months. Neither one understood why he’d chosen them, but as each day passed, they learned a little more about him and each other and started to plan an escape. When they succeed in gaining their freedom and returned home, they find their only solace is in each other, but are they really free now or entrapped by something else? Edward is overcome with the need to protect Bella from any further harm, while she begins to need him in more ways than one. This story brought me to tears a few times and the author does an amazing job of tying in the current day events to flashbacks that are relevant to the situation. I’m completely blown away by this talent because stories like this tend to ramble and lose the reader, but you will feel everything except lost.

To go along with these wonderful fics, I think everyone should’ve been in the elevator with me, so here’s something called a “Mind Eraser” to get you there:

Ingredients
1 oz. Club Soda
1 oz. Coffee Liqueur
1 oz. Vodka

Mixing Directions
Layer the Vodka, Kahlua, and club soda over ice. Drink through a wide straw all at once.

Until next time, Tweet (FanFicDealer), Message me on Facebook, or email (fanficdealer@gmail.com) if you want to talk shop.

The deal has been made. ;)
